Please note that this is not an episode. Do not download this torrent expecting an episode of any kind.
THE DOCTOR: Oh, big, big mistake. Really huge. Didn't anyone ever tell you? There's one thing you never file a DMCA notice against. If you're smart, if you value your continued existence, if you have any plans about seeing tomorrow, there is one thing you never, ever file against. BOB: And what would that be, sir? THE DOCTOR: Fans. - The Doctor (more or less), "The Time of Angels"
This is a torrent of the uncompressed, high-resolution version of the Doctor Who opening titles created by Xander David-Hugh. He's an aspiring graphic artist. It is a high-resolution version of the same video found in a torrent of his compiled work. On the basis of what you see here, the BBC issued multiple DMCA violations against him. YouTube subsequently deleted several of these vidoes. Support Xander: visit his web site. Everything goes somewhere, and I go everywhere." - Mr. Universe, Serenity
Published on May 17, 2013 at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCF6LrE4OQo (now DMCA-ed by the BBC):
Sign the petition today and ask your friends to do the same: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/we-protest-at-the-bbc-claiming-ownership-of/ It's my work, completely within the bounds of transformative fair use for the purposes of commentary and criticism, and is most defiantly not owned by the BBC. While I welcome the BBC's attempt to deprive me of my own work and giving so much publicity to what was simply another fan video like thousands of others on youtube, it does rather worryingly highlight the destructive and disruptive activity larger corporations are having on the world of emerging talent the BBC claim time and again to support. The BBC have pulled my original video claiming that my visuals are owned by them. We all know this to be untrue, and all visuals are 100% original visual content animated by me, from scratch. They also pulled my EastEnders animation done 18 months ago claiming they own that too! Obviously we have a troll somewhere ... Derivative works such as this are permitted under "fair use" due to the content being original and a public critique of the BBC's original content, so no worries there. Unlike many on YouTube I don't steal other's work and repost it as my own, I create it myself, from scratch, for others to enjoy, and take action against those who do steal my visuals. I have of course submitted a counter notification which can take up to 10 days to process, but in the mean time you can re-share MY animation work to your friends if you like, and be among the first to sign the e-petition above!
